As our Operations Manager - Technical Services, they will be responsible for leading a team of technicians and customer support specialists in the daily delivery of a wide variety of high quality fire and life safety services and solutions to our industrial, institutional and commercial customers. Some of the additional expectations of this role include:

  • Managing multiple projects/contracts of varying scopes and complexity, including day to day business, to ensure that all activities follow client, company, regulatory and safety requirements;
  • Developing and executing sales and service delivery plans, programs, and processes, in consultation with the corporate leadership team, to optimize local service delivery opportunities and existing business, vendor relationships, operational effectiveness, customer experience and overall profitability;
  • Creating partnerships to facilitate sales associated with exclusive product lines and services;
  • Stewarding branch financial performance through maximization of market potential as well as management of operating expenses including staffing, inventory, and capital assets;
  • Engaging customers in an effective and timely manner to build meaningful customer relationships and proactively respond to identified issues and concerns;
  • Ensuring effective operational execution through regular review of daily execution of assigned work orders including preparation for work, optimization of material utilization, examination and inspection of work progress, equipment, and worksites; and completion of requisite reports and documentation;
  • Building a high performing, cohesive team possessing the requisite training, skills, and customer focus to deliver high quality service and grow market opportunities;
  • Monitoring the efficiency and productivity of the team, and motivating team members to achieve and exceed assigned performance objectives. Where needed, identifying coaching and training required to support performance development;
  • Fostering a work environment conducive to open communication, initiative, and team work to maintain high levels of morale and a welcoming growth-oriented mindset; and
  • Ensuring all work is executed in compliance with company, client and regulatory safe work practices and safety leadership is demonstrated in all aspects of the operation.


The successful candidate must be a professional, highly motivated, team player with a keen attention to detail and the ability to lead a team to safely execute high quality work on-time, every time.  They will bring with them strong communication and customer service skills, with an ability to work both collaboratively, with a diverse national team, as well as independently within the branch, to deliver high quality service and support to our customers.  Given the service and solutions focus of our business, they will also be able to demonstrate strong problem-solving and decision-making skills and flexibility to address changing situations and priorities. A background in the delivery of field services to a broad customer base and a demonstrated operational mindset grounded in accountability, execution and continuous improvement is a must. They must also possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to remote client sites and other operating locations.  Overtime may be necessary; therefore, flexibility in hours of work will be required.


A candidate with a minimum of 5+ years’ experience in operational management leading a field service delivery team complimented by experience in the fire and life safety industry and post-secondary education in business, fire protection or another related field would be preferred. Combinations of education and experience will be considered.
